The IDentislot is a police approved, domestic security device that allows house holders to check a caller’s identification, before letting them in.

How does IDentislot work?

This simple, but effective, home security device fits to the outside door of a house or flat. It enables callers to slide their identification card through a slot in the device, while the door remains shut. Genuine callers are happy to provide all the necessary information, whilst bogus callers are deterred by the lack of opportunity to enter the house or flat and the time delay involved in verifying their identity. IDentislot enables house holders to view the identification card of a caller and challenge a stranger, without having to open the door and put themselves at risk.

The caller procedure

1. A caller to the house or flat must slide their ID card through the IDentislot for viewing by the house holder. A door label is supplied with each IDentislot explaining the procedure to visitors.
2. The home owner verifies that the caller is genuine by checking the facial image on the identification card and/or phoning the caller's company to check that the call is genuine.
3. The door remains shut until the caller is verified. Door step and opportunistic crime are dramatically reduced

IDentislot is suitable for wood and plastic doors and comes with a life safety training pack, for maximum effectiveness.

IDentislot pack options

The standard IDentislot kit comes with a Telephone Pad for listing critical numbers that the householder might need to call and a Magnifier to help householders read a caller's ID card if the writing is small. Interior and exterior door labels are also included.

Additional options include:

Door Viewer.
This enables the householder to view the caller through the door, checking their identity against their ID card pictures. Our Door Viewer has a viewing range in excess of 200 degrees, meaning that there is no “blind spot” below the Door Viewer for a bogus caller to hide.

ViewCom.
This enables the householder to listen to a caller through a wooden or insulated door, without opening it. The ViewCom is held in position by the Door Viewer (supplied with each ViewCom). The householder presses a button to listen to the caller and releases the button when finished.

Why is the IDentislot better than other door security products?
The IDentislot reduces the risk of entry to a house or flat by criminals because the door remains shut. Criminals often gain entry by forcing a door lock or door bar and by grabbing the hand of a house holder, if a letterbox is used to pass an identification card through. Experienced criminals can also be very convincing and can often talk their way into a house. The IDentislot prevents the caller entering into a dialogue with the house holder until their identity is established.

Is IDentislot difficult to install?
IDentislot is simple to install. However, if you are not confident that you can fit your IDentislot, we have installers available across the country who would be happy to install it for you, at little extra cost.

Who can benefit from IDentislot?
The simple answer is everyone. However, it is particularly helpful to those who live alone, vulnerable adults, families with children and the elderly.

IDentislot has received ‘Police Preferred Specification’ status from ‘Secured by Design’, the official UK Police flagship initiative supporting the principles of 'designing out crime'. Duxburys is one of just four companies to achieve this level of recognition in the personal security sector.
